About Emberline

Serious about safety, easy to work with

I'm Amy, the fire risk assessor behind Emberline. Fire safety is serious, but it doesn't have to be overwhelming. My job is to break it down into clear, manageable steps, so you know exactly where you stand and what to do next.

How Emberline started

I came to fire safety through short lets. I ran a short-let management business, and when the law changed in October 2023, hosts suddenly needed a proper written fire risk assessment. Nobody seemed comfortable doing them for short lets: assessors didn't understand how the properties worked, and hosts didn't know where to start.

So I trained, qualified and started doing them myself. Since then the work has grown to shops, offices, pubs, HMOs and supported living, but the approach hasn't changed.

How I work

Serious, but straightforward

I break it down

Clear findings, in order of priority, with the reasons explained. No wall of jargon.

I'm honest

I'll tell you what's needed and what isn't. No scare tactics and no gold-plating.

I do what I say I'll do

I turn up when I said I would and deliver your report when I promised.

Outside work

When I'm not assessing buildings, I'm usually swimming, cycling or running. I'm a keen triathlete. It turns out that breaking a big, daunting thing into manageable parts works for both.
